Services Action Plan

| TW Financial Events has during the
course of this year hosted a series of seminars addressing the regulatory and
implementation impact of the more contentious directives coming out of Brussels. On 10th December, TW Financial Events will host a lunchtime discussion, providing delegates with a round up of the action so far this year, and a preview of what we can expect before the elections in Brussels next June 2004. This will be an excellent opportunity to evaluate each of the key directives in their wider context, and to assess what financial institutions need to address when they return from the festive break. Last month Callum McCarthy, Chairman of the FSA, addressed a European Policy Forum at which he said: "Each of the14 EU legislative measures will require financial institutions in the UK and across Europe to make substantial efforts to prepare for implementation over the next 12 months: they will need to install new IT systems, train staff, change managerial process and in many instances bring in external consultants'. TW Financial Events will invite a selection of panellists from our previous seminars, who addressed the EU Directives individually, to help decipher the priorities in 2004, in light of Mr McCarthy's comments. Those confirmed so far are: Scott McCleskey, virt-x; Adam Kinsley, LSE; Peter Freeman, OFEX; Richard Britton, ISMA; Brian Taylor, BTA Consulting (chairman).
