BTA never participates in any fraud, corruption or bribery. BTA will not pay any commissions, gratuities, and fees, if any, to agents or any other party relating to any project and will not work through any agent anywhere. This is achieved as all financial decisions at BTA taken by the Managing Director whose personal goal is to “sleep at night” and have a 100% clean career.

BTA Consulting is completely independent. We achieve this through independence of mind, behaviour, and funding (we do not have any external debt). We adopt a high standard of ethics, professionalism, honesty, and auditability. BTA Consulting strictly adheres to the code of working practice of the Institute of Management Consultants. This ensures that potential conflicts of interest are eliminated before they can arise.

Ethical behaviour at all levels is intrinsic to BTA. We define ethics as propriety in all our business transactions, observance of all our commitments, trading on the basis of our earned reputation and a commitment to avoid and expose corruption. We also fully subscribe individually and as a company, to the code of working practice of the Institute of Management Consultants.

Unless we display the highest standards the quality of our service, client trust and our company’s reputation will be placed at risk. Ethical behaviour at all times is seen as a mandatory requirement for all staff and any departures from the highest standards will be treated as major disciplinary issues.

Ethical behaviour takes precedence over all other considerations, including client focus. In the event that we identify a business partner has behaved in an unethical manner we will bring the matter to senior management’s attention. If the offence is not rectified we will sever our relations with that partner.

This policy has been adopted because it is right and because where we have seen unethical behaviour and corruption the impact has been to the detriment of the organisation, its clients and its staff. Unfair bidding practices lead to inflated costs for work – and the impossibility of imposing adequate controls over the quality of work delivered. Unethical relationships within the staff lead to increased risk through the breakdown of risk management controls. Unethical relationships between competitors leads to cartels, resulting in unfair pricing and a reduction in the total size of the affected market. Unethical relationships with clients is a cancer which eats at the heart of our business.


We serve our clients with integrity, competence, and objectivity. We keep client information and records of client engagements confidential. We do not take advantage of confidential client information for our firm or ourselves. We do not allow conflicts of interest that provide a competitive advantage to one client through our use of confidential information from another client.


We only accept engagements for which we are qualified by our experience and competence. We assign staff to client engagements in accord with their experience, knowledge, and expertise. We immediately acknowledge any influences on our objectivity to our clients and will offer to withdraw from a consulting engagement when our objectivity or integrity may be impaired due to reasons beyond our control.


We agree with our clients in advance the basis for our fees and expenses that are reasonable, legitimate, and commensurate with the services we deliver and the responsibility we accept.


We respect the intellectual property rights of our clients, other consulting firms, and sole practitioners and will not use proprietary information or methodologies without permission and appropriate disclosure. We do not advertise our services in a deceptive manner and will not misrepresent the consulting profession, consulting firms, or sole practitioners.

We report violations of this Code of Ethics.

BTA does not run the company with unrealistic fee targets, financial pressures (we have no debt) or links to IT vendors and therefore we have no dependencies. Our approach is to deliver objectively through excellence. We are truly independent and work only to achieve customer satisfaction.
